Head
instructor/owner - Renshi Angela Fice
Renshi Fice has been studying in the martial arts for
over 27 years. Renshi Fice has a 4th Dan in Shaolin-Do
Kempo Karate, 4th Dan in E & T Martial Arts, Renshi
status in Shaolin Do Kempo Karate and E&T Martial Arts, 3rd Dan in Kempo Ju-Jitsu, 3rd
Dan with the I.B.T.F. and a 1st Dan
in Ladies Cardio Self Defense. Renshi Fice was promoted
to her 5th Dan in May of 2010.
Renshi Fice is also the
founder and head instructor of Sho Do Ryu Karate. Renshi Fice
is currently studying in the art of Kobudo, Self Defense Sign
Language and competes across
Canada and the United States. Renshi Fice is currently
continuing her studies under the direction and guidance of Sensei
Victor Arnold, Sensei Rob Swan, Prof Ed McLachlan and Renshi Frank Verbakel.
Renshi Fice is the mother of four children giving her the
unique ability to develop a special relationship with the younger
students. As the mother of a special needs child, she has an
incredible understanding of individual needs, expectations and
potential limitations.
Renshi Fice provides instruction based on personal needs. She
believes that physical challenges should not preclude someone from
the opportunity to better themselves through the study of martial
arts.
Renshi Fice has acquired her American Sign Language
certificate and worked for Grandview Children's Centre as one of the
Martial Arts Directors and her Sho Do Ryu program is currently
taught at some of the Grandview Children's Centre programs. She
prides herself on her ability and willingness to teach the martial
arts to all those who are willing and capable of learning some form
of martial arts.
Renshi Fice has been inducted into the Martial Arts
Hall of Fame - International Instructor of the Year 2005 and
Canadian Women's Competitor of the Year 2005. Renshi Fice was
awarded Martial Arts Woman of the Year 2007 by the World
Karate Union Hall of Fame in July of 2007. Renshi Fice was
awarded an International Merit Award from the Global Martial Arts
Hall of Fame in August 2007. Renshi Fice was Inducted into
the Global Martial Arts Hall of Fame August 2008.
Renshi Fice represented Team Canada in the Dominican Republic
in January 2006. She won a silver and two bronze medals. Renshi
Fice represented Team Canada in January 2007 in Florida. She won
two gold medals and the other members of her club won two silver
medals. Renshi Fice and Silent Tiger Martial Arts were awarded the 2007 Founders Award by the WFMA.
Renshi Fice was ranked top in her division for
sparring, weapons and forms in the World Fraternity of Martial Arts
for 2006.
Renshi Fice is currently a board member for the Global
Martial Arts Hall of Fame (2007- present). www.gmahof.org.
Renshi Fice was the Assistant Coach for Team Canada with
the WCMA in 2010 and 2011 She held a board position and
Executive Board position with the WCMA in 2010 and 2011.
Renshi Fice won two gold and a silver medal at the WCMA
Goodwill games in Mexico, 2010.
Renshi Fice won Gold in Kumite, Silver in Forms, and
Bronze in Weapons at the WCMA 2011 World Games.
Renshi Fice is the Head Coach for Team Canada with the
International Chinese Boxing Association

Sensei Rachel Fice
Sensei Rachel has been training in the martial arts for
9 years. She has obtained her Junior Black Belt in Shaolin Do
Kempo in 2006. Sensei Rachel acquired her Sho Dan in Shaolin
Do Kempo in November 2008 and is also a certified Sho Dan with E & T
Martial Arts acquired in November of 2008.
Sensei Rachel is also training in Kobudo (Weapons
training) and competes across Ontario
and in the United States.
Sensei Rachel is ranked first in her division in kata (forms) and sparring (fighting)
and is ranked within the top three in the her weapons division in
the World Fraternity of Martial Arts in 2006. Sensei Rachel
secured the Championship in her division for Sparring and Weapons in 2007 and
ranked first in forms with the World Fraternity of Martial Arts.
Sensei
Rachel obtained her 2nd Dan in Shaolin Do Kempo Karate in November
2010
Sensei Rachel has earned her Brown Belt in Kobudo and is currently working
towards her Black Belt in Kobudo.
Sensei Rachel is a member of our demonstration team.
Sensei Rachel received a Junior Merit Award from
Global Martial Arts Hall of Fame for her outstanding accomplishments
in the martial arts.
Sensei Rachel won a gold medal and two bronze medals at the
WCMA games in 2010
Sensei Rachel was a triple crown gold medal winner at the
WCMA games in 2011.

Sensei Steve Rees
Sensei Steve began
studying Kempo Do Karate 9 years ago after seeing how much fun his
kids were having at it, and received his 1st Dan in November 2007
under the instruction of Renshi Fice.
Sensei Steve has two
children also studying Kempo Do Karate at Silent Tiger Martial Arts.
14-year-old Emily will shortly be testing for her black belt, and
11-year-old Evan will shortly be testing for his Junior Black Belt.
Sensei Steve works for IBM in
software development, and in his spare time, enjoys practicing and
teaching karate, as well as photography, travelling, juggling and
watching movies.

Sensei Ed Rozema
Sensei Ed
has been studying Shaolin Kempo Do Karate for around 9 years and
received his 1st Dan in November of 2007 under the instruction of
Renshi Fice.
Sensei Ed
is a 23 year employee of General Motors and is married with 2
children, one of which, his daughter Rachel, has also been studying
Kempo Do Karate for a few years now. Despite working the swing shift
in GM, Sensei Ed still manages to enjoy teaching and training in
numerous classes every week, and believes that training should be an
enjoyable experience for everyone in class.
Sensei Ed
believes that everyone in this day and age should possess some type
of self defense training, and that age and physical limitations
should not discourage anyone from learning to protect themselves or
their families. Sensei Ed also believes that “Exercise should
be more enjoyable and more interesting than just running on a
treadmill.”

Sensei Jacki Green
Sensei Jacki has been studying karate
for 20 years. She has her 2nd Dan in the style of Shorin-Ryu
Karate.
Sensei Jacki has been involved with
Silent Tiger since the beginning. She comes in to teach Bo classes
and for special seminars and tests.
Sensei Jacki and Sensei Fice have worked
together to create a program called Sho Do Ryu which is based
on both styles of Shaolin-Do-Kempo Karate and Shorin Ryu Karate,
modified to reach the needs of those who have intellectual and
physical exceptionalities. Currently Sensei Jacki teaches
Sho Do Ryu Karate through Grandview Children’s Centre in
Courtice and is currently in the works of starting another practice
in Peterborough. With her training and experience as a Deafblind
Intervenor, Sensei Jacki enjoys having the opportunity to
bring both skills together through Sho Do Ryu Karate.
Sensei Jacki was recently married and we
hope to see her back doing weapon seminars soon.

Sensei Ryan Fice
Sensei Ryan has been in training in
Kempo karate for over 6 years. He achieved his Junior Black Belt in
Shaolin-Do Kempo in November 2008. Sensei Ryan is an active
member of the demonstration team and competes on a provincial and
international level. Sensei Ryan won student of the year at
Silent Tiger Martial Arts in 2005. He was ranked first competitor in
his division for Forms and Sparring and second competitor in
Weapons for the World Fraternity of Martial Arts in 2006. In 2007,
Sensei Ryan secured the Championship in his division for
Weapons and Sparring and ranked first in Forms for the World
Fraternity of Martial Arts.
More recently, Sensei Ryan secured gold
medals in all three divisions (Weapons, Forms, Sparring) at the
Gauthier's Spring Fling Classic.
Sensei Ryan is an ambitious and
dedicated student who is constantly exploring many forms of martial
arts and hopes one day to pursue a career in the same field.
Sensei Ryan won THREE gold medals at the
WCMA Goodwill games in 2010.
Sensei Ryan won two gold and one silver
medal at the WCMA World games in 2011.

Sensei Evan Rees
Sensei Evan has been
training in Kempo karate for seven years. He achieved his Junior
Black Belt in Shaolin-Do Kempo Karate in November, 2008. Sensei
Evan has competed and won awards for forms and weapons. Evan is
a top student in French Immersion at Ontario Street Public School.
He received the school board’s Student of Character Award for his
school this year. Sensei Evan
credits his karate training for helping him model good character.
In addition to the sport of karate, Evan swims, skis and plays
basketball with the Durham Basketball Association house league and
on his school team. He also plays guitar. Sensei Evan thanks
his parents for their support and Shihan Angela Fice for the
opportunity to learn from her.

Sensei Alex has achieved his black belt in Shaolin
Do Kempo karate.

Sensei Nolan Lederman
Sensei Nolan
began his martial arts training in Toronto in American Kempo Karate
under the instruction of Sensei Dave Lane. Due to relocation,
Sensei Nolan has joined us at Silent Tiger Martial Arts where as
a 1st Dan Black Belt he continues his training.
Sensei Nolan is also
the primary instructor in the Sho Do Ryu Program.
Sensei
Nolan is an active member in the Martial Arts community
competing in tournaments across Canada and the United States. Most
recently, Sensei Nolan competed as a member of Canada’s
Martial Arts Team at the 2010 International Goodwill Games in
Cancun, Mexico where he won Gold in Sparring and Bronze in Forms. in
2011, Sensei Nolan returned to competition at the WCOAA World
Championships where he won a gold in Forms and two silver medals in
Sparring and Weapons.
In 2011, Sensei
Nolan was named Head Sparring Coach for the Silent Tiger Martial
Arts Competition Team where he will too compete as a team member.

Sho Do Ryu Program - Sensei Nolan
Sensei
Nolan began his martial arts training in Toronto and due to

the community, promoting and facilitating fundraising endeavors for
Mt. Sinai Hospital. He strives to help those in need both in his

Sensei Nolan received his
Black Belt in the Sho Do Ryu program in May of 2009.
Sensei Nolan currently
competes across Ontario in the Kempo program.
Sensei Nolan
competed with Team Canada in baseball in 2 Pan American games and 1
North American game helping his team win 3 gold medals.
Sensei Nolan
competed for TEAM Canada in Mexico at the WCOAA/WCMA Goodwill games in 2010 and won
a gold and bronze medal.
Sensei Nolan won a Gold

Sho Do Ryu Program - Sensei Lynda
Sensei Lynda
began her martial arts training in 1994 in the style of Tae Kwon Do.
She attained the level of 4th Kyu blue belt before taking
a break to start her family. She is the mother of two sons. She
resumed her training in the art of Shaolin-Do-Kempo Karate
Program at Silent Tiger Martial Arts and is striving to achieve her
black belt in that program. She also trains in the Kobudo (Weapons)
Program. She secured the Championship in
Forms and Sparring and was ranked first in Weapons in the World
Fraternity of Martial Arts in 2006 for her division.
Sensei Lynda feels
every child benefits from the skills obtained in the martial arts in
order to become a well-rounded, confident, and respectful person.
It is for this reason that when asked to train as an instructor in
the Sho Do Ryu program for special needs individuals, she was
extremely enthusiastic. She achieved her Black Belt in Sho Do Ryu
in December of 2006.
Sensei Lynda is a member of our
demonstration team.
Sensei Lynda received an
International Merit Award for her work with the Sho Do Ryu program
from Global Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

Sho Do Ryu Program - Prof. Ed McLachlan
Professor Ed McLachlan
is the founder of Dora Ryu Jiu Jitsu. He holds a 7th dan in Kitsune
Ryu Jiu Jitsu, a 6th Dan in Canadian Jiu Jitsu and a 4th Dan with
the American Karate Association.
Professor McLachlan began training in the martial arts at
the age of 10 and has been training and teaching for 50 plus years,
beginning in Scotland where he was born and then came to Canada
where he continues his passion. He is the owner and head instructor
of E & T Martial Arts and Founder of Dora-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu (Tiger Jiu
Jitsu).
Professor Ed McLachlan has a passion for working with
special needs individuals and he himself is hearing impaired.
We are proud to have Professor Ed McLachlan as a mentor in
our Sho Do Ryu program and are pleased to work with him and the
Global Martial Arts Association family.

Sho Do Ryu Program - Sensei Crystal
Sensei Crystal achieved her black belt in the Sho Do Ryu
program in February of 2010. She has been training in the martial
arts for 15 years. Sensei Crystal received an
international merit award from Global Martial Arts Hall of Fame in
2008. Sensei Crystal is a college graduate and
actively plays baseball and is a current member of the Silent Tiger
Martial Arts Demo team. Sensei Crystal won a Gold and
Silver at the WCMA 2011 World Games. . |
