Head
instructor/owner - Sensei Angela Fice
Sensei Fice has been studying in the martial arts for
over 24 years. Sensei Fice has a 3rd Dan in
Shaolin-Do-Kempo Karate, 3rd Dan in Kempo Ju-Jitsu, and a 3rd
Dan with the I.B.T.F. and a 1st Dan
in Cardio Thai Kickboxing. Sensei Fice is also the
founder and head instructor of Sho Do Ryu Karate. Sensei Fice
is currently studying in the art of Kobudo and competes across
Canada and the United States.
Sensei Fice is the mother of four children giving her the
unique ability to develop a special relationship with the younger
students. As the mother of a special needs child, she has an
incredible understanding of individual needs, expectations and
potential limitations.
Sensei Fice provides instruction based on personal needs. She
believes that physical challenges should not preclude someone from
the opportunity to better themselves through the study of martial
arts.
Sensei Fice has acquired her American Sign Language
certificate and worked for Grandview Children's Centre as one of the
Martial Arts Directors and her Sho Do Ryu program is currently
taught at some of the Grandview Children's Centre programs. She
prides herself on her ability and willingness to teach the martial
arts to all those who are willing and capable of learning some form
of martial arts.
Sensei Fice has been inducted into the Martial Arts
Hall of Fame - International Instructor of the Year 2005 and
Canadian Women's Competitor of the Year 2005. Sensei Fice was
awarded Martial Arts Woman of the Year 2007 by the World
Karate Union Hall of Fame in July of 2007. Sensei Fice was
awarded an International Merit Award from the Global Martial Arts
Hall of Fame in August 2007. Sensei Fice was Inducted into
the Global Martial Arts Hall of Fame August 2008.
Sensei Fice represented Team Canada in the Dominican Republic
in January 2006. She won a silver and two bronze medals. Sensei
Fice represented Team Canada in January 2007 in Florida. She won
two gold medals and the other members of her club won two silver
medals. Sensei Fice and Silent Tiger Martial Arts were
recently awarded the 2007 Founders Award by the WFMA.
Sensei Fice is currently a board member for the Global
Martial Arts Hall of Fame. www.gmahof.org.
Sensei Fice was recently appointed to the position of
Ontario Director of the World Fraternity of Martial Arts.
Sensei Fice was recently ranked top in her division for
sparring, weapons and forms in the World Fraternity of Martial Arts
for 2006.

Sensei Chris Kindratiuk
Sensei Chris has been training in martial arts for
over 9 years. He has achieved a 1st degree black belt in Shaolin
Do Kempo karate. He has also trained in the arts of Kosho Ryu
Kempo.
Sensei Chris is 19 years old and has a great positive attitude
towards teaching and helping others learn. Sensei Chris believes
in having a fun time while learning self-defense and tries to
make it a great time every time a student comes to class. Sensei
Chris believes everybody should get equal treatment and no one
should be left out.
Sensei Chris has also been promoted to assistant
instructor position within the Sho Do Ryu program. Sensei Chris
was recently nominated to receive an International Merit Award
from Global Martial Arts, however, Sensei Chris is
currently employeed with a company that takes him across Canada at
6 week intervals and could not attend the ceremony.
Sensei Chris was recently recruited at the Arnold Classic
Festival 2008 to help provide security detail for Arnold
Schwarzenegger. |

Sensei Jacki Green
Sensei Jacki has been studying karate
for 17 years. She has her 2nd Dan in the style of Shorin-Ryu
Karate.
Sensei Jacki has been involved with
Silent Tiger since the beginning. She comes in to teach Bo classes
and for special seminars and tests.
Sensei Jacki and Sensei Fice have worked
together to create a program called Sho Do Ryu which is based
on both styles of Shaolin-Do-Kempo Karate and Shorin Ryu Karate,
modified to reach the needs of those who have intellectual and
physical exceptionalities. Currently Sensei Jacki teaches
Sho Do Ryu Karate through Grandview Children’s Centre in
Courtice and is currently in the works of starting another practice
in Peterborough. With her training and experience as a Deafblind
Intervenor, Sensei Jacki enjoys having the opportunity to
bring both skills together through Sho Do Ryu Karate.
Sensei Jacki was recently married and we
hope to see her back doing weapon seminars soon.

Sensei John Skinner
Sensei John
has been studying Kempo Do Karate for the past 6 years and received
his 1st Dan in March of 2006 under the instruction of Sensei Fice.
Sensei John
has 2 sons that have also studied under Sensei Fice. His 12 year old
son Noah will be testing for his Junior Black Belt in very soon.
Sensei John
works fulltime for Mazda Canada at their Corporate Head Office as
the Facilities Coordinator.
Sensei John’s
favourite pastimes and hobbies (apart from studying the Martial
Arts) include: flying single engine aircraft, target shooting, and
hang gliding. Skydiving is on his summer 2007 list of things to do.
Sensei John is also taking American Sign Language classes as
he and his wife have been named guardians of a special needs child.
Sensei John
is currently on leave to pursue his pilot's license.

Sensei Craig Zoet
Sensei Craig has been training in the martial arts for
over 8 years. He has obtained his first degree black belt in Shaolin
Do Kempo. Sensei Craig is also training in Kobudo
(weapons training) and competes in Ontario and the United States.
Sensei Craig recently won the Canadian Championship in the WFMA for forms
and sparring in his respective divisions. He won two silver medals
in the Dominican Republic and Florida when he represented Team
Canada for the WFMA. Sensei Craig has been accepted
into Fleming College pursing the career of Forensic Science.
Sensei Craig is currently home from College and we are
excited to have him back teaching in the school. |

Sensei Rachel Fice
Sensei Rachel has been training in the martial arts for
9 years. She has obtained her Junior Black Belt in Shaolin Do
Kempo. She will be testing for her adult black belt in November
of 2008.
Sensei Rachel is also training in Kobudo (Weapons
training) and competes across Ontario
and in the United States.
Sensei Rachel is ranked first in her division in kata (forms) and sparring (fighting)
and is ranked within the top three in the her weapons division in
the World Fraternity of Martial Arts in 2006. Sensei Rachel
ranked top in her division for Sparring and Weapons in 2007 and
ranked first in forms with the WFMA.
Sensei Rachel has
recently earned her Brown Belt in Kobudo and is currently working
towards her Black Belt in Kobudo.
Sensei Rachel is a member of our demonstration team.
Sensei Rachel recently received a Junior Merit Award from
Global Martial Arts Hall of Fame for her outstanding accomplishments
in the martial arts. |

Sensei Steve Rees
Sensei Steve began
studying Kempo Do Karate 5 years ago after seeing how much fun his
kids were having at it, and received his 1st Dan in November 2007
under the instruction of Sensei Fice.
Sensei Steve has two
children also studying Kempo Do Karate at Silent Tiger Martial Arts.
14-year-old Emily will shortly be testing for her black belt, and
11-year-old Evan will shortly be testing for his Junior Black Belt.
Sense Steve works for IBM in
software development, and in his spare time, enjoys practicing and
teaching karate, as well as photography, travelling, juggling and
watching movies. |

Sensei Ed Rozema
Sensei Ed
has been studying Shaolin Kempo Do Karate for around 5 years and
received his 1st Dan in November of 2007 under the instruction of
Sensei Fice.
Sensei Ed
is a 23 year employee of General Motors and is married with 2
children, one of which, his daughter Rachel, has also been studying
Kempo Do Karate for a few years now. Despite working the swing shift
in GM, Sensei Ed still manages to enjoy teaching and training in
numerous classes every week, and believes that training should be an
enjoyable experience for everyone in class.
Sensei Ed
believes that everyone in this day and age should possess some type
of self defense training, and that age and physical limitations
should not discourage anyone from learning to protect themselves or
their families. Sensei Ed also believes that “Exercise should
be more enjoyable and more interesting than just running on a
treadmill.” |

Sensei Mitchel Morris
Sensei Mitchel has been training in Shaolin Do Kempo for 6
years and has obtained his first degree Black Belt. Sensei
Mitchel will begin his studies in the art of Kobudo within the
next few months and has had minimal training in grappling at a
previous school. Sensei Mitchel is in high school and
hoping that with hard work and determination he will become a famous
actor. He is currently trying to decide which University he will
attend when he graduates. Sensei Mitchell is currently
pursing his goal of becoming an actor. |

Sensei Cooper
Jacques
Sensei Cooper has been in training for
over 6 years and has achieved his probationary black belt in Shaolin
Do Kempo karate.
Sensei Cooper is 15 years old and enjoys
teaching the younger belts at Silent Tiger Martial Arts. He
plans to begin his studies in the art of Kobudo soon.
Sensei Cooper is currently on leave.

Sho Do Ryu Program - Sensei Lynda
Sensei Lynda
began her martial arts training in 1994 in the style of Tae Kwon Do.
She attained the level of 4th Kyu blue belt before taking
a break to start her family. She is the mother of two sons. She
resumed her training in the art of Shaolin-Do-Kempo Karate
Program at Silent Tiger Martial Arts and is striving to achieve her
black belt in that program. She also trains in the Kobudo (Weapons)
Program. She secured the Championship in
Forms and Sparring and was ranked first in Weapons in the World
Fraternity of Martial Arts in 2006 for her division.
Sensei Lynda feels
every child benefits from the skills obtained in the martial arts in
order to become a well-rounded, confident, and respectful person.
It is for this reason that when asked to train as an instructor in
the Sho Do Ryu program for special needs individuals, she was
extremely enthusiastic. She achieved her Black Belt in Sho Do Ryu
in December of 2006.
Sensei Lynda is a member of our
demonstration team.
Sensei Lynda recently received an

from Global Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

Sho Do Ryu Program - Prof. Ed McLachlan
Professor Ed McLachlan
is the founder of Dora Ryu Jiu Jitsu. He holds a 7th dan in Kitsune
Ryu Jiu Jitsu, a 6th Dan in Canadian Jiu Jitsu and a 4th Dan with
the American Karate Association.
Professor McLachlan began training in the martial arts at
the age of 10 and has been training and teaching for 50 plus years,
beginning in Scotland where he was born and then came to Canada
where he continues his passion. He is the owner and head instructor
of E & T Martial Arts and Founder of Dora-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu (Tiger Jiu
Jitsu).
Professor Ed McLachlan has a passion for working with
special needs individuals and he himself is hearing impaired.
We are proud to have Professor Ed McLachlan as a mentor in
our Sho Do Ryu program and are pleased to work with him and the
Global Martial Arts Association family.
